T-spot Hotspot system is a software/platform that interacts with networking devices to control network usage. The network to be controled in most cases is the world wide web AKA the internet as in most African States it is charged per usage rather than fixed charge like cable (DSTV) TV.
T-spot gives the client the power to control the internet usage not only in time formats like most internet vendors eg ZAR5 for 15 minutes ect, but also flexible charges like ZAR3 for 10MB as an example. The client as a business owner, he can give his employees eg 4hrs a day or 3GB a month for staff as a simple case, but for complex cases were the speed is high, complex algorithms like "4hrs a day not exceeding 700MB (for downloading users), and 42 hrs a month not exceeding 15GB". This actually means :
- in a day the customer can not connect to the internet for more than 4hrs straight [which usually half a working day]
- if the speed is fast and the user is downloading large files, the user can not exceed 700MB, which is sufficient even to download a presentation video
- in a month the user can not exceed 42 hrs (not really 4hrs times 30 days) but the 4hrs is set for those days when even business needs the internet
- in a month the user can not exceed 3000MB (3GB)
This makes internet regulation even more effective for uncontrolled sites like University Campuses, Malls etc
The „Tspot hotspot system” is ideal for any business willing to control staff internet usage in order to avoid over the cap charges and make the internet bill a fixed or rather a predictable cost
Usually hotspots are vulnerable to nepotism , hacking and other misuses. Since Tspot can be managed at the main office, only HQ employees can generate vouchers and block suspected customers. Hacking is a major problem through the use of softwares (Mostly VPNs) to gain unrestricted access, but tspot is currently immune to at-least all common hacking tools.
Tspot is a flexible system to manage internet as a product for vendors like Hotels, Cafe's, Parks and malls while also effective to manage internet as a benefit eg Schools, company staff etc
